FAQ
Does acupuncture hurt?
Acupuncture is a relatively painless procedure when done by a licensed practitioner. Many patients find it quite relaxing and sometimes even fall asleep during treatment.
How long is an acupuncture session?
If you’re a new patient, you can expect your first appointment to last between 45 to 60 minutes. A follow up acupuncture session is typically about 20 to 30 minutes long.
What do I need to know for my first acupuncture appointment?
Your first appointment includes an initial consultation which takes about 15 to 20 minutes. We also schedule in additional time for you to receive your first treatment after the consultation.
How should I prepare for my acupuncture treatment?
It is recommended to eat a light meal prior to your treatment. Please wear baggy, comfortable clothing so that the practitioner is able to access the various acupuncture points on your body.
Is acupuncture covered by my insurance?
Lim Acupuncture Clinic is not contracted with any insurance companies, although we do provide superbills for those with out-of-network acupuncture benefits. Once you submit the superbills, your insurance will reimburse you directly based on your policy coverage. We also accept HSA and FSA payments.
