OUR PHILOSOPHY

Side Benefits, Not Side Effects

Acupuncture works with your body’s own healing intelligence — not against it. The result is a treatment whose “side effects” are things you actually want.

🔥
Reduces Inflammation
Calms the body’s inflammatory response, easing the source of pain and swelling rather than masking it.
🧘
Helps Manage Stress
Activates your parasympathetic nervous system so your body can shift out of fight-or-flight and rest.
🛡️
Boosts Immunity
Supports healthy immune function, helping your body defend and repair itself more effectively.
⚖️
Maintains Homeostasis
Helps regulate the systems that keep your body in balance — sleep, digestion, hormones, and mood.
Improves Overall Wellbeing
Patients often report better sleep, more energy, and a steadier sense of calm between visits.
🌿
Relieves Acute & Chronic Pain
Targets the root of both sudden flare-ups and long-standing pain for lasting, meaningful relief.
Dr. Lim always understands the root causes and has always helped me heal up and feel better.

SEE THE DIFFERENCE

A Fundamentally Different Path

Most care chases symptoms. We look for the reason they’re there in the first place — and build a plan around it.

The Usual Route
Conventional Care
  • Suppresses symptoms instead of resolving them
  • Focused on managing pain, not its cause
  • Side effects are common and often significant
  • Brief visits with rotating providers
  • Ongoing reliance on medication
  • Goal: keep the symptoms at bay
Our Approach
Lim’s Acupuncture
  • Investigates and treats the root cause
  • Focused on why your symptoms are happening
  • “Side benefits” like better sleep & less stress
  • A dedicated practitioner who knows your story
  • A structured plan with clear milestones
  • Goal: restore your body’s natural balance

I came in for treatment of menopausal symptoms after being denied medication because of liver enzyme issues. The results are so much better than I could have thought possible with any kind of treatment.

Very nice atmosphere. Lim is very personable and knowledgeable. I went for restless leg syndrome but she went the extra mile to treat my other conditions. Already seeing improvement of my arthritis and RLS.

Common Questions, Answered

Everything you need to know before your first visit. Still have questions? We’re only a call away.

Does acupuncture hurt?+
Most patients are surprised by how gentle it feels. Acupuncture needles are about the width of a hair — far finer than the needles used for shots or blood draws. You may notice a brief tingle or a dull, heavy sensation as a point activates, but most people find treatment so relaxing they fall asleep.
How long is an acupuncture session?+
Your first visit runs about 60–90 minutes to allow time for a thorough consultation and exam. Follow-up sessions typically last 45–60 minutes, including 20–30 minutes of restful needle retention.
What do I need to know for my first appointment?+
We’ll review your health history, current concerns, and goals, then perform a brief exam before your first treatment. Wear loose, comfortable clothing, eat a light meal beforehand, and arrive a few minutes early to complete any paperwork.
How should I prepare for my treatment?+
Eat something light 1–2 hours before, stay hydrated, and avoid caffeine or alcohol right beforehand. Wear loose clothing so we can easily reach points on your arms and legs, and try not to schedule anything strenuous immediately after.
Is acupuncture covered by my insurance?+
Many plans offer acupuncture coverage. We provide detailed superbills you can submit to your insurer for reimbursement, and we accept HSA and FSA cards. Reach out and we’re happy to help you understand your options.
